Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires; with the name of Francis, he became the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church and Bishop of Rome, 8th sovereign of the Vatican City State, primate of Italy, together with all the other titles of the Roman pontiff.
